Dog Tips for Winter

• Dogs can easily lose their scent and since of direction when walking in snow or on ice. So never let your dog off the leash during these times. More dogs are lost during the winter than any other season, so make sure they have their id tags on.
• A dog's coat is it's protection during winter weather, so never shave them down to the skin during this time.
• When you bath your dog during the cold months be sure and dry him/her throughly before taking outside.
• Puppies are more sensitive to cold than adult dogs. You may need to paper train them inside during these months.
• Increase your dog's supply of protein during the winter months in order to keep his/her coat healthy and protective.
