When Traveling With Your Dog You Need The Right Dog Carrier
Many people like to carry their dog with them when they travel. The dog loves it and you don't have to find someone to pet sit while you are gone.
Whether you are traveling by road, by rail or by air then there is a dog carrier for you. Today you can find carriers to satisfy your desire for fashion and functionality.
Some carriers are rigid and some are soft and pliable and they come in all different sizes and colors. You will want to first select your carrier based on the size of your dog and the way you plan to travel.
Then you can choose colors, design and features.
- Traveling by Car - If you are going to be traveling by car with your dog then a wire crate or hard plastic crate will do. Some of the wire crates will fold down for easy storage when not in use. A crate or hard plastic carrier should be large enough that your dog can stand up, turn around and lie back down comfortably. You don't want it so large though that the dog will slip around during travel. You will want to put a soft pad or bed inside the carrier in order to make it a comfortable ride.
- Travel by Airplane - You will want to check with the airline carrier that you plan to use to see what their size restrictions might be.
